Pop Up Windows

In order to be able to see everything on this site, make sure POP UP windows are temporarily autorized, or always autorized for DreamAircraft.com

Many links and pictures open a new window and this is considered a POP UP by many tool bars and antivirus software and may be blocked automatically, unless you autorize POP UPS. [back to top]

Quick Links

We added a line with five quick links, under the page header:

Version française | Reduce header | Show sitemap | Contact us | Print page

The first link on the left is the language link; Version française or English version, allows the visitor to switch between the English and the French versions of the site.

The second link from the left; Reduce header or Large header, allows te visitor to  switch between large and reduced page header, to customize for preference and screen size.
The middle link will give the visitor two options;  Show sitemap or Hide sitemap. See the Site Map browsing tip for more useful information on our special layout of this feature.

The Contact us link will open the company directory page.

And finally, the Print page link will translate the page displayed into a format that is easier to print.  You can print any page on the site using this link. [back to top]

Site Map

We modified our site map format in order to give a second navigation option to the visitor.  Thus, navigation on this site can be done in two different ways; via the navigation buttons on the top of the page  or  using the sitemap links.

The site map view, when displayed by clicking the Show sitemap link under the page header, shows all the site pages at a glance.

When the site map is displayed, you can hide it again when desired by clicking the link that will now show Hide sitemap.  Also, when the site map is displayed, the large header is automatically reduced. You can click on Large header to have it displayed again.

This sitemap view is divided by section and each section of the sitemap corresponds to the navigation buttons and sub-buttons shown on the top of every page.

Furthermore, when navigating using the links on the sitemap page, the visitor will know what page was visited by looking at the link colour (each link corresponds to a page on the website). A blue link means the page has not been viewed, and the link will turn purple when the page has been viewed.

Note: The links colour will reset to blue whenever you browser history is cleared. [back to top]

Tundra media (photos & videos)

This section can be accessed in two ways: either by clicking on the link when the sitemap view is displayed, or by clicking on the DREAMAIRCRAFT button, then MEDIA AND AIRSHOWS sub-button and Tundra media (photos & videos).
When you first enter the media section, you see a page showing the different video and photo albums available.  Click on the small picture to get into an album. Note: All videos are in the same album.

If you select the video album, you will have to click again on one of the videos available to start the video.

If you select one of the photo albums, you will see a page showing a small version of pictures in the selected album. You can either click on each picture to see a larger version, or you can use your mouse and click on the “View Slideshow” link in the bottom left corner of the page.

Once you are in the slide show page, you can click on the top row buttons to select a different “delay” (display time for each picture) and a different “max size” to increase the maximum size for displaying the pictures (the default 320 x 320 is the smallest viewing size available, use 640 x 640 or more to see a larger picture size).

Just click on Stop when you want to exit the slide show page. [back to top]

Web searches tips

Thankfully, you were able to find us on the Internet. Now you may want to find information on aircraft engines, instruments, tools, etc.  This section gives the visitor useful hints and tips on how to improve web searches.

The best way to avoid being overwhelmed with information not related to what you are looking for is to be precise in your search and to avoid general terms.

For example, if you want to get information on aircraft engines, you can make a search with the term  engine only but this would bring a many pages on all types of engines for many different applications.  The way to avoid this is to specify that you want to search for aircraft engines only. One way to do this is to use the + sign to get only pages with aircraft and engine on the same page, thus improving your chance to get pages that only talk about aircraft engines. You would type the search term like this:  aircraft+engines.

The exception to this is when company or product names cannot be confused with something else, for example:  Cessna, Beechcraft, Piper, Kodak, Sony.  However, in a case like Sony, you may still want to be precise on what you are looking for because the company offers so many different products.

The same is true for a search for Cirrus Aircraft.  If you only type in Cirrus, you will get all kinds of information on clouds and weather too. By typing Cirrus+Aircraft your search result would be much more related to what you were looking for.

You can also ask for more than two words to be even more precise in your search. For example, if you want information on Superior Aircraft Engines, type Superior+Aircraft+Engines.

Here are some examples of ways to refining your searches:

For info on the Tundra, you could try:
Tundra + airplane
Tundra + aircraft
Tundra + kitplane
Tundra + bushplane

These searches will show pages with both words in it but there is no guarantee that the words may necessarily be near each other. For example, a search with Tundra + airplane may bring up a page that talks about getting into an airplane to over fly the Northern Tundra !  Doing a phrase search avoids this problem. This way, you tell a search engine to give you pages where the terms appear in exactly the order you specify. You do a phrase search by putting quotation marks around the phrase, like this:

“Tundra aircraft”
“DreamAircraft kitplane”
“Garmin handheld GPS”
“Garmin avionics”
“Avidyne avionics”
“Piper aircraft”
“Cessna 182”
“Cessna Skylane”

Finally, you can try different words with and without a space to improve you chances to find pages with different spelling. For example:

DreamAircraft  Dream Aircraft
Tundra kitplane  Tundra kit plane
Tundra bushplane Tundra bush plane
BendixKing   Bendix King
Airshow   Air show

Of course, the + sign and quotation marks would be included in these searches to get better results.
